I stopped reading on page 35 where Ms. Lebowitz writes that the link between autism and MMR vaccine is a matter of belief. This is not a matter of belief but of science.There is no causal link between autism and vaccine. There is not even any controversy about it in the scientific community. The small case series published in Lancet that posited such a link was written by Andrew Wakefield who was funded by lawyers trying cases seeking damages. The article was later retracted by Lancet and Wakefield was found guilty of ethical violations and of fraud.I stopped reading the book because, if Ms. Lebowitz got that wrong on page 35, I would not be able to trust anything else in the book. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is a truly FANTASTIC book that parents will enjoy and feel uplifted by, *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2018* When you have a kid on the Autism Spectrum, your life will never be the same again. If you are anything like us, you own almost every book ever written and are glued to any and all info that can help. I would like to say this. Cancer patients go to a cancer specialist. Never believe change cannot happen, it can and it does. Find a doctor that specializes in Autism, even if they do not take your insurance and even if you have to wait 6 months. In our experience and $50 000 in medical insurance later, most don't have a clue or will send you off on your own to "figure it out". I am not saying this book gives you all the answers. But I do love the mindfulness approach here and especially that it deals with couples and the hardship ASD causes to parents relationships. The rest, you will have to research. DAN Dr's are amazing. Biggest frustration: the author's solution to every situation, frustration and reaction to your child is to practice "your mindfulness". If that is the be all-end all solution, she sure doesn't put much (if any) time into how to practice being mindful.Other frustrations of this book: The topic of Leaky Gut is introduced in the beginning of the book and the author states that it will be discussed in more detail in a later chapter, it is not. When it's the topic of sexual awareness, she she states "there are ways you can teach children from an early age not to inappropriately or publicly touch themselves."
