If you have super curly hair - this is a must for our arsenal! *by M***A on March 25, 2019* I must say that I was skeptical about anyone trying to 'bring back' the banana clip from the 1980s. It was a horror to use the 80s version if one's hair wasn't straightened -- since they inevitably broke when placed in a mass of curls - if you were lucky enough to force the clasp closed.But I am Sooo happy with this modified version. It really stretches, and it looks like the designer has paid close attention to earlier complaints about the 'button' coming off. In this version, the 'snap on/button' is more like a small, T handle and seems to be firmly attached. I wore it for the first time today and it gave me a very nice 'faux hawk' look, with bangs of curls in the front. Got tons of compliments on my 'new do' - and literally, my hair was just two days old from a wash-and-go, and placed the clip in and voila! Easy and eleagant -- well, slightly edgy given the faux hawk look.Don't be frightened by the bold color of the purple or gold (they are cheaper than black) -- my hair is so curly and thick that it just folded over the edges of the clip so you can't even tell the clip is there. My hair looks pinned up!
