I use a shower head with a hose and have always rinsed my liner down when I'm finished showering. I have not seen any soap residue or cloudiness, the liner is still crystal clear after 40 + showers.Update: I wrote the above review in Feb 2015, it is now August 2015 and the PEVA (polyethylene vinyl acetate) liner has begun to show signs of curling at the ends and even some signs of cloudiness or maybe even mildew. The curling is bad enough to overpower the magnets.Still I liked this curtain liner enough that if I have to buy 2 in a year I don't think that is unreasonable and due to the lack of that horrible smell you get with some of the others, I will buy this one again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This liner is wonderful and does not smell *by D***L on February 8, 2015* Finally a shower curtain liner that does not get slimy and moldy. They are a company I would buy from again because of the customer service and awesome product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No plasticky odor! *by F***N on January 27, 2015* Have not had a chance to take down old curtain and put up this one - but there does NOT seem to be any odor! My husband and I both prefer the clear plastic shower curtains, either as a liner or alone. However, they usually have a HORRIBLE odor for the first week or so after opening the package. Mildew won't be an issue until our humid Indiana summer starts - hope this curtain really does help with that! I always launder fabric shower curtains in the washer, and dry them in the dryer. I've also done that SOMETIMES with plastic curtains, using the gentle cycle, with at least a half hour soak - then dried on either very low heat or no heat in the dryer. That only works with fairly substantial and sturdy plastic curtains, and this one does look as though it WOULD hold up.
