The included keyboard cover should keep dust from ruining the butterfly keyboard that is known to get stuck due to dirt and dust. The material seems durable. It is a soft-touch plastic which should protect your macbook from scratches. It will not protect it from drops. Also, I have issues attaching an USB C adapter I have because the case keeps the adapter from plugging all the way into my USB C ports.
