I've been wearing this ring for around 2 weeks and it still looks as nice as the day I got it. Stainless steel is far stronger than sterling silver and just stays shiny no matter what it goes through, and it's not expensive. I read in someone else's review that their orb popped off and they found it and stuck it back on. I've had that problem before with some stainless steel jewelry and glass gems not being affixed too well, so I'm trying to keep a close eye on it. Superglue would solve the problem (as long as you found it afterward). At any rate it's solid and smooth on the inside, not hollowed out.
