In my case, I bought it without thinking it through. This is a spotlight, and most of the light is directed straight forward in a narrow beam, like a flashlight. In my case, I bought it for use in a hanging paper lantern, for which it is not appropriate.....my fault for not thinking it through completely. The color selection is very nice. Also keep in mind that the remote control is not a radio frequency device, but an infrared one, which means that it has to be pointed directly at the front of the bulb with an unobstructed path for the remote signal to operate it.
