The adjustment slider moves easily along the straps and doesn't slip off the end of the strap (at least, not easily). I tested this and the slider stays pretty snug on the end. That being said, it was a bit difficult to get the slider back off the end of the strap. This isn't something you would normally do, but I suggest not pushing the adjustment slider clear to the end of the straps.
