Not the quality we have come to expect from Pyrex products, but considering the price, not a bad deal. **Q: Do lids hold tight? Or do liquids within spill out on shaking?** A: Yes, the lids seal up nicely. I just tried it out to confirm and water doesn't drip out while holding it sideways or upside down. The lids seal it up tight and no spills. **Q: are they BPA free?** A: Yes. That was the reason I bought them. I disposed of all my old plastic containers and switched to glass with BPA free lids.
