This controller actually works with treadmill motors and it's able to provide fine speed control at low speed. It's great to quick prototype. Be aware that treadmill motors are usually rated for 2HP, that's about 1500W, and this controller is only rated for 500W, I probably wouldn't push it beyond 250W, so light applications or prototypes only.I'm using it for powering a DIY pottery wheel. There is a 10:1 gear reduction so I'm hoping the power rating is enough for this application, we'll see. The motor controller that came with the tread mill motor is really bad at low speed. It's not linear and very unpredictable. Therefore, this controller would be a great replacement if they can make it be rated at 2000W.Now, the controller came with all the connectors detached from the circuit board due to bad soldering job. There is a serious quality control issue with this manufacturer.
