I came back to share my own experiences in hopes that it might help someone who feels equally concerned after reading the negative comments.First of all, I wouldn't consider myself very "handy", so it took me a little longer to assemble the tricycle. I would say it didn't take more than 30 minutes total to figure it out and assemble the parts. Once I had tackled the assembly we had to test it out. The steering column is sensitive and the adult driving the tricycle can quickly and easily move the bike one way or another. Just don't try making sharp turns in a tight area. (The first time I attempted it we nearly hit the wall...) My daughter is just over a year and it's the perfect size! She's about 20 lbs and loves to sit and eat snacks during our daily walks. The tray won't last much longer as she grows, but I would guess we have until she's 18 months before I'll need to remove it. The sunshade is a huge plus on hot, sunny days and it keeps her comfortable. I love that feature. She hasn't tried grabbing the handles like some of the reviewers mentioned. The guards for the wheels have been excellent and her feet are not even close to being able to touch the covered pedals or front wheel.I think one of the primary differences in our experience and others has been the level of the product that we purchased. We decided to get the "ultimate" which has all of the extra features for the tricycle. It was absolutely worth the additional cost and has been great for folding up to place in our vehicle during trips to the park.My take away: You're going to get what you pay for, even if that sounds ridiculous. The higher-end product may cost you an addition $30 dollars or more out of pocket, but the long-term benefits outweigh the cost in our family's opinion. I would gladly make this purchase again as I believe this tricycle with grow with my daughter through the years. Our granddaughter loves it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fix the HANDLING & STEERING this would be perfect *by B***E on April 25, 2020* This was easy to assemble. Pretty basic. A glass of wine should get you thru it. Not like an IKEA book shelf that requires 2 bottles before opening the box. DIRECTION are clear and you only need a screwdriver.WEIGHT: LIGHT No blowing an ovary trying to manhandle it into your car while little Tina is giving you a concert at the top of her precious lungs.STORAGE: This beauty has 2 cup holders. One for the product of that impromptu girls night out and one for yourself. There are little areas for snacks to get thrown on the ground. The basket in the back is very sturdy (do you really want to carry the whole 12 pack?) and can hold 3 stuffed animals 2 blankets 14 different snacks the child can't live without and to spoil yourself a box of tissues. Up on the handle they're is a zipper pouch for small stuff a,key, couple dollars, benedyal etc.HANDLING: THIS THING IS LIKE TRYING TO DRIVE AN OUT OF CONTROL BUMPER CAR!!! There is just way too much play in the handle to be able to use it for any length of time. My sister said" It steers like a 3 wheeled skateboard going down a steep back dirt road." I bought this for the Zoo.(whenever, that maybe). Between having healthy trust issues with my 17 month old niece. Who likes to grab the handle bars and pull hard ( right or left she is not picking) whenever anything is close by. IF THEY MADE AN ADAPTER OR A BEARING, SOMETHING TO TIGHTEN THE HANDLING AND MAYBE DISABLE the kid's ability to steer. If the handle is pulled out, maybe disable the have bars. Give us parents control over something.FOOTING: THERE IS NO WHERE FOR THE KID TO PUT THEIR FEET. My niece who is the size of a big 3 years old can not touch the footrest Her legs are too long for them to dangle. She leans to the side to put one foot down and locks the other behind the frame.
