And we are an allergy family and want to do whatever we can to decrease allergens. We tried using one of the higher MERV rated filters purchased at our local store, but it was too much resistance for our furnace system. One month prior to purchasing this system I had put, a fresh filter in my furnace system. When I took it out, I could see how much dust had built up in the space of the month. Installing this system was an absolute breeze. It’s plug and play. After this new filter system being in place for a month I took a good look at what the filter had pulled out and it was easy to see that it had pulled out at least twice as much dust as the previous filter plus, I have an air filtration plug-in device upstairs. It gives you a minute by minute read out of the quality of the air in the home. Since installing this new furnace filtration system, the air quality read by the air filtration system has been consistently better than it was prior to installing this furnace filter system. Serviced once every 6 months.After construction and with an additional HVAC in the attic (miscommunication meant no electrostatic filter) our new system struggled with paper filter as dirty filter reduced flow to the furnace shutting it down every 3-4 weeks. In addition the system struggled to maintain constant temperature between old house/new addition.Then we installed this. Quickest solution without calling an HVAC contractor to install a Honeywell electrostatic which was our preference.1. Airflow significantly improved house temperature fluctuations between old and new house and cold/hot spots were longer an issue2. System was able to stay operational even though the filters needed replacing (eventually it will fail).3. My original HVAC system now only lasts 3 months before it too will stop working. I’m still changing the green pads every 4 weeks but all the airflow issues with old house vs new addition have been resolved4. My second unit is running 2/3 of the time it did prior5. Need more proof, the photos are of different sides of the filter after I removed it. It was very fine power dust and I needed to clean the casing as well as replace the green filter.One note: make sure one of the green filters is tucked under the electrical supply such that electrical charge is fed to the sandwiched insert. Also that the metal insert is the correct way round. Without this it’s definitely not going to work properly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Quality unit with some improved effectiveness *by T***3 on Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2023* Have experimented with several type of filters over the years. The ones that really work also really choke the airflow. The old standard spun fiberglass filters pretty much do nothing. Thought I give this a try. Good looking well built unit and reasonably priced. Good instructions. I do see maybe a 50% reduction in the gray lint we seem to have a lot of. Not too sure how the 24 volt AC power at 0.2 amps (actual 4.8 watts) can provide a useful electrostatic field over that large area but the filter material is a great improvement over the standard units. Haven't noticed any airflow reduction. My system has no room for an actual electrostatic air cleaner so this is the best I can do here.
