Far better than what you find in Dept Stores. I wear 36" pants and the Large size was on the last (largest) hole at first. With the stretch of the leather, though I am on the second hole after a few wears (Trust me, I lost no weight).Edit: After a few months I've noticed that this belt tends to stain my pants. Honestly I had expected more out of this belt. The leather is of good quality, however the metal that the buckle is made out of is not. I recently dropped this belt on the ground and the straight metal piece that goes through the belt hole broke in two. I've never seen metal this cheap in my life. How can brown be confused with red? I don't like sending things back unless they can't be used in some way or another. I plan to order some leather stain and try to make it brown.
