**Q: Can this head be used on 1/2" shaft with a bushing?**
A: Depending on your machine & rpm options, I suppose it would be ok. Your best bet would be to check with woodstock directly. It is a very nice head with good balance. Do not over tighten!

**Q: Can this head be used with smooth (non-corrugated) cutters?**
A: I totally agree with the answer given by Wayne Smith. The holding surfaces (corrugations) is quite minimal on these small heads, and at 6000 or 9000 rpms on many shapers it would not be safe.

**Q: What torq should the bolts be tightened at?**

This cutter-head is very sharp and gives you a very clean, smooth, burn marks free product. Grizzly offers this cutter cheaper than any other sellers. The biggest advantage of the item is that you can change the cutting blades to match your favourite profiles. It's heavy which means less vibrations during operations. I also recommend to use a power feeder with such heavy duty cutters. A power feeder of 1/4 HP. will suffice. I's only valid if your shape is 3HP or less.The item was received on time and well packed.

I agree with Casper, it is aluminum . The one I received had been dropped and damaged prior to being placed in the plastic bag. I needed the tool so I bit the bullet. Seems like I am eating a lot of lead lately.
