It came in a protective clamshell to help with transit. Mine looked awesome (already full of leaves ready to pinch) and it didn't take long to establish in my garden after its journey to my house. Unfortunately 2 of the four came looking dead (Basil and the Thyme WAS indeed dead). I was hopeful that with a little TLC they'd spring back, but the Thyme did not. Basil is still trying to make a come back but looking quite poor. The other two herbs (Rosemary and Sage) have done ok. If I had bought these at the store, I could have returned the thyme for a live, healthy one.
