I loved the moral of the fable, because one thinks that that the reality shows are peaches and cream, and the reality is another. A short summary, This novel is about Jane Roberts who moves in to Los Angeles with her best friend Scarlett. Jane is naturally blonde, cute, makes mistakes with her relationships, a normal person, if you will. Scarlett is gorgeous, opinionated, real smart, and has beautiful black hair. A producer discovers Jane and persuades her into this reality show *with Scarlett* and they meet another two girls, Madison *fake blonde with big boobs and wants to be famous at all costs* and Gaby *real dumb*. Jane and her friend soon find out that that fame comes with a price that she's not prepared to pay. Review: Truly a Turn Pager - As soon as I got the book I started reading it and couldn't put it down. I love Lauren Conrad and "The Hills" show. Although now that she has left the show I do not watch it anymore. The the rest of the cast are just stupid and is plain to see that the show is made up. I mean come on Heidi and Spencer had all this drama and they still got married. It's all just for the money. I only watched it because Lauren was on it. Any hoot the book is Great. It is a Great summer read. Trust me if you like the show when Lauren was on it you will enjoy reading her book. I hope she writes other books in the near future. She did a Great job. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Fun Read *by S***H on June 16, 2011* Although I didn't think I would like this book, when I finally decided to read it I did my best to go into it with an open mind. I am not a big fan of shows like "The Hills" and I had heard rumors that this series was similar to the show. I was afraid it would be a book with little substance and lots of fluff. I won't say this book is some profound piece of literature, but it was actually very enjoyable! It didn't take me long to get into the story and fall in love with the 2 main characters, Jane and Scarlett. Jane is a very lovable character, sweet and friendly. Scarlett is lovable as well, but in a totally different way. Scarlett is more straightforward and doesn't tiptoe around people's feelings, but she will do anything she can to protect Jane. As for the other 2 girls involved, Madison and Gaby, Gaby is sweet but clueless....and Madison is a character you will just have to learn about when you read the story. As I said before I was worried this book would fall flat, but I did really enjoy it. There were parts in the book that made me laugh out loud. Little comments between Jane and Scarlett and some off handed remarks that were quite humorous. The banter between the girls reminded me of my friends and how we joke with each other. There is a lot of drama going on in this story, but the reactions and the feelings of the characters really ground this book and make it more relatable. It is about more than just some well to do girls who get a big break in Hollywood. You will find yourself really rooting for Jane and wondering what Scarlett will say next. If you are passing up this book just because of the author, I think you are making a big mistake!
