The layout is neat and easy to follow, the descriptions are to the point and there are clear examples for reading combinations. This is a good intro book for beginners - I like his style and keep going back to it. My only dislike/major complaint/big disappointment about this book is that the photos of the cards on the page of each card description - and also in the layout examples - are SO TINY that you can't see them! For example, it mentions the bear pictured possibly hunting for food, but all you see in the tiny photo is a black blob, can't even read the number on the card, etc. Not that it is absolutely necessary, but I like visuals and there is plenty of room on each description page to have made that graphic a whole lot larger, so I really don't know what that is about.
