There were no seems on the glass, and the sockets are ceramic. Compared to the builder grade "boob lights' the quality of the light is so much friendlier. Overall the fixture is a little smaller than what I was picturing in my head, but I should have taken a minute to think about the dimensions. A few of the standard sized bulbs I tried to use were a bit too big. If you go with a decorative chandelier style 60 watt you should be fine. If you want to fit a LED light with more the 1000 lumens you might have to dig around on the internet for a while to find one compact enough. I don't think any bulb with a length over 4 inches will fit. If you're extra particular about bulbs (like I am) You're gonna want an omnidirectional beam. I think those Vintage Edison style LEDs would be best (especially if you can find one with a color temperature around 4000k).-This review is from a real person.
