(The blade is easier to open with an assist catch, but the spike can be a little slippery to grip/open) The handle plates and knife are held together with flush-mounted torx-type screws (as opposed to protruding rivets) so it’s easy on the hands. The knife is compact and not too big. It definitely feels like a quality knife. I would have given 5 stars except the lanyard loop (bail) is both loose and thin so you might lose it if there is a bit too much pressure on your lanyard. Improved design (liner-lock) over original (spring lock) and especially the change to not have the blade edge bump and cut into handle crossbolt. Tiny, cheap-looking wire bail is a negative; a more robust design shouldn't have been difficult. Smooth action. I suspect 4116 steel; not the hardest, but highly corrosion resistant, easily sharpened, and capable of taking a fine edge.
