Review: Works great, not perfect fit for Coleman 40 qt Cooler - Contrary to other feedback here - this motor does NOT fit the Coleman 40qt thermoelectric cooler (5640) 100% perfectly as the shafts on both sides are too long; which will cause both fans to rub on their covers; HOWEVER - with a little patience and a Dremel tool/cutting disk to shorten each shaft - one can make them fit properly so the fans don't rub and the housings/covers fit properly over them. Since Coleman no longer supplies this replacement motor (Thanks Coleman!?) and when they did it was $36 plus shipping (3 years ago) - I'd say the 'extra rigging' is well worth the slight hassle. Best I can tell - this motor is stronger than the original, though only time will tell. It should work okay (for a while) in this application. An electric cooler for use while driving in a car or truck where there is already noise is probably the best use for it as it is not silent running like you would find in a brushless motor. I have an older Igloo Koolmte 40 and it was suggested in multiple posts on various sites that this motor would work as a replacement. It absolutely will not work on an older Igloo Koolmate 40. The motor shafts are the wrong size for both the inner and outer fans and the shaft is not long enough to reach through to the inside to even be able to jury rig something to work.
