I was worried that I would need to break them in before they were comfortable but I wore them all day the first day I got them with no discomfort at all. Especially good news for me as I have wide feet and in general I find all shoes need breaking in before I can wear them for more than a couple of hours, but not these. But after wearing them for only 3 days a,week for 2months 1 of the metal hooks at the top of the boots broke, the laces would not stay done up. So bad to buy new ones. The grip is good. But will not buy another pair. So now have to rewind the laces over 1 of the hooks below the missing one. It's a pain but it works at the moment. I wear them for voluntary work 3 days a,week and do coservation, litter pick, woodwork so use in workshop.
