I saw the prices *by R***R on June 5, 2017* I bought this for my daughter in June 2016. She wore it many many times last year. I was surprised how well it held up. When I first saw the material and how it was stitched around the monofin, I had my doubt about how durable this tail was. Well, it last all summer last year. So, now it is 2017 and she has worn the tail about 8-10 times since summer vacation began and it still looks great.I saw the prices for Shimmertail yesterday and couldn't believe how low the prices had dropped!! Is this a mistake?? If so, I took advantage of it and ordered a new tail to have a back up one just in case.My kid looooooooves her Shimmertail. I will say that we do take very good care of our tail. She was six last summer and I helped her put on her tail every single time and lowered her into the pool. This year, she requests for my assistance still and I gladly provide it and because of this I think there's less wear and tear on the tail.Thanks Shimmertail for making an affordable mermaid tail on the market and turning my kid into a "real" mermaid! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not a tail fail *by L***G on June 21, 2017*  I purchased the 14/16 for my tall and slender 11 year old, and while it's a little loose, it fits pretty well. She just pulls it higher up her abdomen.It took a little bit, but now she's gotten the hang of swimming with the tail, but the plastic monofin (which is quite thin and flimsy) has begun to protrude out of the bottom hole in the tail. I think this is because the material has stretched a bit after being used 4-6 times. Also, she's remarked that the foot straps seemed to have stretched out.The material is very pretty, but the area around the fin was pilly and faded after just a few uses. I assume this was from coming in contact with the pool bottom.Overall, this was a good purchase for the price and my daughter has really enjoyed it. I would NOT pay anywhere close to the retail prices on the ShimmerTail website, but for less than $25, I'm pleased. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bought the ADULT size for ME- a former college swimmer. *by K***S on January 3, 2018* I've only had it for a few days, but I've tried it out a couple of times and it's super fun! I wanted to review it because I ordered the adult size for MYSELF! I usually wear about a size 12, so I was nervous that the tail wouldn't fit, but it did. It was even a little loose! I was a college swimmer and I coach high school swimming now. Several of my swimmers played with it and I tried it out, too. You can definitely swim in it, but it's going to take some strong abs and knowing how to dolphin kick/swim like a mermaid. The monofin at the bottom is fairly flimsy, but it's fine for just playing around at the pool in. I was really excited to find the fin for this price. The Shimmertail sight was WAY more expensive and this wouldn't be worth that price.
