So far, I have only used one grommet and drilled the hole for it with a 2" Hole Saw. The grommet fit snuggly into the hole I drilled. I am adapting speakers and a subwoofer to make it look like a '60s era unit but with much better sound. These rubber grommets are good for running plugs, wires, etc with a clean look. I used a hole cutter to create 2-inch holes and then used a five-minute epoxy to hold them in place. The epoxy isn't exactly sticking to the rubber, but they are staying in place. If I had a 1 7/8 hole saw I'd bet the friction would hold these in place. No complaints really.
