Decided to place in TACON Thriller 1/12 scale. Sad to say; Motor burnt up. Probably the 1/12 scale Tacon was too much for this combo. Both the motor and ESC were burning up. Sad Panda!Do you have an old 1/18 scale Losi Desert Truck laying around? Does it run on a brushed motor and NIMH batteries? Do you want to bring a brushed truck to the modern decade? Then you need a RCRunning 2430 7200KV 2mm Shaft Brushless Motor and 25A ESC! I stripped out the old AM radio electronics, and removed the old brushed motor. The existing fasteners were good to go as the motor had plenty of mounting options for different motor mounts. The motor has a 2 MM shaft with a flat edge that made fitting a pinion gear easy. NOW I have a 1/18 scale bullet that can pop wheelies, even when going at half throttle. Now my new first world problem is the truck is too light for the amount of torque and power behind the small motor. It went right into a Latrax Teton using double sided tape without any quirks. I'm running it with the stock nimh battery and stock 10 tooth pinion. I ordered the RCRunning silver esc programmer and programming is a snap. Truck has plenty of torque and speed compared to stock brushed esc and motor. I just cut the stock battery and charger connections off and soldered deans/T connectors on. Must upgrade to aluminum drive shafts.
