The skipping rope can be used, ropeless and with the rope provided once you get better at jumping. This is great for starters and you can learn without having the rope, this is also a great benefit when not having enough room for the rope.PROS;- Seller is very thoughtful and provides a spare battery for when the one in the unit runs out.- Comes with a handy storage / travel bag which is great.- Can be used with rope or without rope.- Packaging can be recycled, no excess material, eco friendly.- Manual is easy to read and understand.Cons;- A bit lightweight, but that is subjective.- Loud beeping when turned on, I don't think this is necessary.Overall I would recommend, its great starter skipping rope and would even be great for advanced jumpers who want the benefits of having a ropeless skipping rope. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A rope-less skipping rope that tricks you into skipping!!! *by W***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 April 2019* Having given this several (sort of) good workouts now, I can say that I rate this highly and think it's great value for money. I was recommended that I should try one of these electronic skipping ropes, as over the colder and wetter months it's so much less tempting to get outdoors and do the usual walking/cycling and I really hate going to gyms. I should have bought this a few months ago really but there you go, I've probably badly timed buying myself this but I felt particularly couch-potato this week with the bad weather.It comes in a plain brown box with no fancy printing; inside, the two weighted handles and long traditional rope are neatly and compactly packed in a tray compete with instructions, a carry bag and a spare battery. For some strange reason I prefer to put it back in the box than push it into the bag though.I scratched my head a bit at the instructions, not because it was poor English but because it's slightly confusing until you have the handle containing the electronics parked infront of you. But setting the skipping handles up wasn't as complicated as the instructions would have you believe.You are asked to provide a weight, presumably for calorie counting, but no option for height. I wouldn't think that the calorie counting is going to be too accurate for very many reasons, but as a guide to give you an idea of what you've burned it's an excellent and convenient feature to have.The handles and weight ends are soft rubber; I hadn't ever tried an electronic skipping rope before buying this and I had it in my mind that the weights would be heavy and capable of giving you a very painful whack if they hit your hand. They don't. It's well designed, and there's not much danger of being accidentally beaten by the fairly light weights on the ends whilst using this. It feels comfortable and natural to hold... and shockingly, you really do feel as if you could be skipping as you turn the weighted handles and jump/move. I couldn't imagine how anyone could be fooled into thinking they were skipping by twizzling two handles around before I tried it.This also removed the annoying rope tangling that happens with traditional ropes and a mistimed jump, and I can 'skip' indoors too, in a confined space.I haven't set this up with the long traditional rope but I will no doubt tie it on once the weather is good enough to get out into the garden in the evenings.The counters are also incredibly useful to have, I think they're a must to get the most from using this equipment.I must admit I felt slightly dubious about all the top reviews awarded to this product before I bought it. But it is genuinely a very good product if you're looking to keep fit or exercise for weight loss, and would like to try something a little different. And I think you could probably incorporate some movement which is lower impact than the jumping from a traditional rope too, as you don't have to physically jump into the air as part of using this. The skipping is a pretty good cardio exercise and I used my girlfriends skipping rope. I decided to buy my own and this one is actually perfect. It tracks your reps which for a beginner is very good. Also, the idea of removing the actual rope and making it kind of wireless is super handy if you use it at home and you don’t have a lot of space. Don’t worry there is an actual rope which you can attach if you want to use it as regular.
