When sharpening knives with my Wicked Edge sharpener it allows close examination of the blade's edge while it is still mounted in the jig. This is a convenient, easy to set up and use device. The only thing I would change in my choice would be to have ordered one with a polarizing filter to cut reflection on metal surfaces (knives, watches, etc) in order to "see" more of what I am looking for.
