I need very black.** A: If you leave it on long enough it should darken down. You can watch it change. It doesn't take long. I now need to go out and purchase a new one.Update: When I contacted the seller to let them know the product did not work on my item they responded I needed to use an additional two other items, I believe they stated a pre soak and sealer in order to make the item darker. I let them know I thought their response was a CYA response and they don’t stand behind their products. You cant return the item either since it’s considered hazardous. Lesson learned. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars doesn't work to darken brass *by J***O on Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2021* This doesn't do a sulphur or selenium reaction. It looks like a chemical nickel plate that is then converted to a ultra thin black layer that comes off with a paper towel. See pics, the top batch of smaller solid brass acorn nuts looks to be nickel plated now with a blue black tarnish. On the bottom is a standard brass darkening system from Rockler on slightly larger acorn nuts. Note the correct color and tarnish for a darkened brass. The solution has a precipitant in it that settles out immediately. It is bright blue and probably the source of the nickel. This stuff will ruin your brass so DO NOT USE IT.
