Quinoa is a wonderful, healthy food choice. It's packed with nutrients and this book is loaded with some excellent tips on it's preparation. But, weight loss? I have tried quinoa for weight loss and sadly to say, I gained 4 pounds. Also, other people I've known didn't lose weight. It is still a starch. But, a healthy starch and one that can be included in a healthy diet plan. Just don't think you're going to lose tons of weight on it. I didn't. You might be made different. I can only say what worked and didn't for me. A lot of people say that beans make them gain weight, but if I make a soup with beans in it and eat that for one of my meals each day (I put some meat and lots of veggies in it) I lose about 2 pounds a week. If I just didn't get sick of soup after about 3 weeks. So, what works for one person, doesn't always work for another. But, I do recommend this book for the preparation tips and ideas the author presents. It just didn't work for weight loss for me. The first part of the book is a link to this program. Then you get the recipes. They aren't recipes, they are ideas, you have to figure out how to actually make the item.
