Mine blows open and kicks grass and dust onto me.** A: This is not a mulching mower. The Black and Decker 13 AMP 20" corded electric mulching mower is MM2000 - a slightly differently conformed rear area with a plastic guard that fits into the opening to close off the underside of the carriage to create the "mulching" environment for the blade. With the MM 2000, you have both options, you can either remove the plastic guard (shield) and attach the grass catcher or keep the plastic shield in place to mulch the grass. I made the same mistake but I needed the mower ASAP and so kept it. It is a powerful one, I'll grant you that, it just doesn't mulch. The mulching mower is great, and now I will have to bag my grass and dump it in in plastic bags to be trashed, pain in the you-know-what! **Q: is 13 amp powerful enough 100ft cord?** A: Amperage rating: more than 12 not more than 16, you can use up to 100' extension cord ( more than that is not recommended) The extension cord must be a 12 American Wire Gauge **Q: What Voltage does this electric mower use. I bought this lawnmower in March 2025. It stopped working in July 2025. The electric motor makes a high pitched swirling noise, but the lawnmower blade does not turn. White smoke comes out of the motor. 2. The removable attachment to direct grass out the side of the lawnmower is flimsy, falls off, and will not stay in place. When the mower was working, I had to stop several times to reattach the device. 3. When I first was assembling the mower out of the box, I had difficulty attaching the handle to the body. In the absence of a helper, I had to use duct tape to hold the handle in place while trying to attach it to the body.
