I used Biolage Curl Defining Elixir on damp hair, then let my hair dry almost completely (I have thick hair so it will stay damp when rolled up). Took a little trial and error for me to figure out how to keep these from rolling back down my head - I ended up starting at the top of my head and hooking the curls underneath to the ones above to help keep them in place. 40pcs was more than enough and they're pretty cute.
