It came with tools but the instructions were a little vague. Once I was able to separate the players casing halves, the battery installation was a breeze. The included tools were a little flimsy so I resorted to a flat head precision screwdriver for the most part of the separation of the casing. This new battery works like a charm and holds a charge so much better than the last one. I got this to replace the original battery as it would no longer hold a charge at all. The new battery works fine, and after I got it connected the Zune powered up and functioned normally. However, it was a bit difficult to install because as other reviews have mentioned, the connecting wire is just a hair too short. I did get it connected successfully but wasn't able to push in the connector as far as I would have liked. I secured it with a piece of tape as well. When connected and the battery is seated in its slot, there still seems to be a little tension on the wire, which was not the case with the original battery. Time will tell if it holds up. As for the actual battery, I can't speak to the quality or how long it will last since I just got it, but just wanted to provide some comments on the installation and fit. The kit came with two case opener tools, of which I only needed to use one. it also came with a screen protector which I won't be using, but that's a little bonus if you want it. Note you will need a very small Phillips screwdriver. I had a PH0 which was not small enough.
