Shoes are good for the price. But Natives one are better quality.

*by O***W on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 2, 2016*

I purchased both the iplay and natives shoes for my daughter to try on. I got size 4 for both, but both turned out to be too big for my daughter although they are already the smallest size. I am going to do a comparison since I have both on hand in case anyone finds this helpful. Please note as they are too big for my daughter, I intend to return both, so I won't be able to comment on the longevity of either shoes, but it is clear to me that the natives will probably last longer as the quality is obviously better to me.iplay vs Natives:As you can see from the photos, both colors are almost exactly the same shade of pink. From a distance, I really cannot tell which is which. However, once I pick up the shoes, it is clear there are differences.- iplay is slightly longer than natives. Natives has a narrower toe, while iplay is rounder. iplay has a higher back. Natives is wider in the front. iplay is straighter looking, while Natives has more of a foot shape, designed for a better fit.- iplay holes are poorly made - there are still remnants of rubber that shouldn't be there. Natives holes are all perfect. Natives has more holes, so might be better for ventilation.- Natives is made with several piece of rubber, while iplay is made with a single piece of rubber, so the white parts are all painted on and poorly - you can see the lines being out of place in several areas.-Natives logo is perfectly branded on the top, while iplay looks sloppy. The back of the shoe has a logo, too, and the Native ones is in blue and more noticeable.-they are both made with EVA and smells the same. So, the material is the same. Although, more care is used to make the Natives ones.Having said all this, do I really expect the same quality from iplay when it is half the cost of the Natives ones? No, I didn't. And I think for half the price, the iplay ones are perfectly fine. Which one would I have kept if they had fit my daughter? I think it all depends on how quickly I think my daughter's feet will grow. If I think my daughter will move to a different size by next summer, then I only need the shoes to last one summer, and in this case, the iplay ones would fit the bill at half the price. If I think my daughter can wear the same size next year, then for sure, I will keep the Natives ones. If I think my daughter will wear them often during the summer, then for sure the Natives. If I only want to use them ocassionally in the splash pad or on the beach, then the iplay ones would do just fine.I hope this is helpful for anyone debating between the two shoes.

    Pretty darn great toddler shoes!

They seemed to run small, my 22 month old daughter is in the 9 hand-me-downs (she does have rather large feet) from my son & older daughter, and she wears a 7 in most other sandals and tennies. But they have room for her to grow into as well, so not too too big. The 7's fit her, but they are snug and I think uncomfortable for her now. My problem, I've thrown them in the wash, but failed to pull 1 out twice now and ruined them, they shrunk at least 2 sizes smaller. Darn! So I'm ordering a 4th or 5th pair, and I will be ultra careful to not dry them again. They all love them, but now I've had to move to way too expensive traditional clogs as they don't carry or make them large enough for a 4 and 5 year old, that I can find.I do give them a 5, they've last several years each, although with a little effort I've pulled the "tongue" back too far or too hard and ripped it, a bit. On 2 different shoes. But they are still wearable even then. The white wears off, but that's to be expected as well. Overall they are pretty darn great shoes! And they don't fall off, fall over them, trip over them or other issues that are so rampant with toddler shoes in the 18mos -3 year range.

Worked for 2 wears only, 15 month old toddler

I would not recommend these water shoes. I bought them because we were having issues finding reasonably priced closed toe water shoes that he could wear to day care 1 day a week. The reviews on these were great, specifically that they went on easy and came off easy, even when wet. They arrived in the mail and were clearly too large, but we needed them and while way too big for our 15-month-old's feet, they were smaller than what we could find at our local "big box" stores. We slid them on and off he went, clomping around with his over-sized water shoes. Wear 1 was successful. Week 2 they seemed slightly harder to get on, but we squeezed him in and off he went, enjoying water day at school. Week 3 there was no way his feet were getting inside the shoes. The length of his feet compared to the shoes was the same... too big... how much does a 1-year-old's foot grow in a couple weeks anyway? But they were absolutely not sliding on. We took a scissors to one shoe and cut it up both sides, thinking if there was a larger opening then maybe we could get his foot in. Still no way it was going on. We cut a little further... Nothing. So we got exactly 2 wears out of these before we switched to another type of shoe. I did try one final time the following week, thinking maybe his feet were somehow puffy the week before (?), and still, they refused to slide onto his feet.As far as the shoe itself, they're cute and he didn't complain the two times he wore them. The paint does begin rubbing off with one wear, but they note that in the fine print on the tag.For us, these shoes were a failure and I would not recommend them.
