This charging dock is so much better! This one is designed in a way that I don't have to fiddle with it to get it to make a connection. The device comes with two inserts. I tried both, but the one that was in the unit to begin with gave the tighter, more secure fit. The other insert was far too wide and the unit wouldn't stand up on its own or always meet the magnetic charging ports. The angle of the dock is pretty good, but for someone that is 6'4" I actually would appreciate a more acute angle so I could view it easily when it's seated on a table. It's light and unobtrusive enough that I often use the phone with the dock connected instead of messing with the waterproofing flaps and using a more traditional charging cable. And though I know I can accomplish much with Tasker, for those that don't want to learn that application Sony's Xperia connect app actually provides some useful functions in connection with the dock. If I put my phone in this dock, but only between the hours of 10pm and 6am, it uses the app Timely as an alarm clock.
