If you want to experience good sound quality, you need to have very good headphones. I hardly needed to boost to hi-gain as the normal sound itself is enough. I hardly ever use the XFI button on the side. Very good amplification in case you press the Hi-gain. Watching movies with the normal sound is good and if you turn on the Hi-gain, get ready to feel the pain when the thud and the sudden boom hits your ears.
