Review: Sporty Hand Drill that Packs A Lot of Punch! - One question...how did I get along for so many years without this little drill?? I'd seen this little hand drill around for a long time - but I thought it would be a "repeat tool", too similar to my Dremel, my regular Black and Decker drill, or my teeny-tiny little hand drill (which is actually more like a twisting screwdriver that works when it wants to). Had I known what I was missing out on, I would have gotten this as soon as Fiskars introduced it. It is THAT good. Only having it for about a week, it's totally gotten a work out. I had no problems drilling through resin - and I drilled through the center (the thickest part) just to see what the drill would do. It drilled like a mighty drill - sans noise, electricity, and the hassle of getting out a bigger drill. I drilled through 3/4" copper blanks - and it ate them up! I even drilled through a penny - without any trouble at all. (You need a second person to hold whatever you are drilling, unless you use a vise or clamp.) The drill is easy to hold, fits well in the hand, is cute and compact, is very easy to crank...I just love it! My daughter was playing with it and accidentally dropped it - on the concrete floor. As it flew across the garage, my heart sank. I just knew it would shatter and not work anymore. WRONG! There isn't a nick on it - the drill bit fell out, but I screwed it right back in. The drill comes with four bits - and the thinnest bit was in it during the..."accident" - but there wasn't any damage at all! Yes, I love a lot of crafty stuff. My life revolves around arts and crafts. I pretty much live in a craft store - and wouldn't have it any other way. I always hesitate to say something is a "can't live without" - because really, how many craft items can you honestly not live without? Well friends, this is one of them! You will use this for many things above and beyond arts and crafts - and every time you do, you'll be thankful to have a sporty little drill you don't have to plug in. My only (very minor) complaint? There isn't a place to hold the bits. Fiskars had the foresight to include 4 handy bits - they need make a small compartment along the shaft that is just big enough to hold the bits. Then this would be - absolutely and without question - THE PERFECT TOOL.
Review: Nice option for drilling - I think the flaw with this, although I don't know how you'd resolve it on a design like this, is that you have to use 2 hands. I was drilling in something not level today and had to kind of prop it on my leg. I suppose you could use a table vise or other type of clamp. I was surprised how well this worked to drill. I'm not sure how to describe my thought but it seems like the amount that you turn the handle turns the drill bit quite more than you'd think; i.e. it seems that one revolution of the bit happens with maybe half a turn of the crank. I could be wrong in the exact mathematics but I was surprised how quickly it drilled. I also liked that it didn't take a lot of downward pressure. It did split the wood on my project so I had to go to plan B, but I'm not sure if that's the drill's fault or the wood's fault. Maybe one trade-off about the 2 hands is that it's a lot lighter than a powered drill. Overall pretty good.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does cut through glass?**
A: I have only used it to cut through wood and metal. You might need a special glass cutter because glass can crack easily.

**Q: Does this work with Dremel bits?**
A: Yes - dremel bits fit into it.

**Q: Is the shank 1/8"?**
A: If what you mean by "shank" is the width of the drill shaft, that's 1 inch across. The bits are 3/32", 1/8", 5/32", and 3/16".

**Q: What is the geared ratio, how many times does the chuck rotate with one turn of the handle ?**
A: I don't know the gear ratio, but I was very surprised at how quickly I drilled through hard wood. Use good drill bits and you won't be disappointed.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Handiest Drill from Household Chores to Fine Crafts. I Can't Be Without It!
*by S***C on July 11, 2017*

Funny thing about this drill... I had one which everyone laughed at when I got it. I used it constantly and it really came in handy many times and then others starting using it too since it was so easy and practical. Guess what? No one laughs now! Apparently, I am loosing my mind and carried it off somewhere to do something and forgot where that was or someone borrowed it and forgot to bring it back because I went looking for it and my drill was gone! That is why I ordered this one which is the same Fiskars Drill as my old one and works the same (only a different color). It comes with 4 bits and I just can't be without this drill. I used it for things around the house like putting up baby gates (the kind that is metal and screws in the wall on the sides with gate in the middle), simple repairs on the deck and making planters for a vertical garden. It is also great for delicate things like drilling a hole through a bottle cap without cracking it. (Because I control the speed, I can drill without causing pressure or heat build up.) While I wouldn't use this to build a house, I sure need one in my house. This is the handiest drill I own and I own serveral (expensive ones too). I just can't be without this one, I love this drill!
