Due to not being able to use nor move his left leg along w/ poor blood flow in that leg, not to mention sitting in his wheelchair most of the day, his left foot is always SEVERELY swollen. He's also diabetic so he needed something to protect the bottoms of both feet... the right which he uses and the left that is always sitting on a HARD metal foot peddle. I was apprehensive about ordering these slippers due to the fact that they are not wide width, but to my surprise they DO fit. The right foot fits GREAT, but even the straps on the left foot can be closed. The velcro is strong enough to hold the slippers on even when the straps are slightly stretched. I am very pleased, but most importantly my friend is pleased and his feet are protected. Now his feet can 'breathe', are still protected on the bottoms by the rubber like soul, and doesn't require him to wear socks and shoes, especially in the heat of the summer! He loves his new slippers and loves the memory foam! He said 'they are so soft and squishy'.
