We don't read by them, we just wanted a little warm light glowing. The detail is perfect. We just love them and have gotten my compliments. Review: adorable for the money - I love this lamp. It is beautiful with great craftsmanship. Only issues - the harp was hard to put in. It was wider than it needed to be to go into the slots. My husband had to squeeze together to get it in for me. The bulb we found in our stock won't go in after the harp is on. I am going to take some of the recommendations from other reviews and buy a low watt refr. bulb. I used a 20 watt and the glass gets hot. May be too close to the glass. I would suggest making the long piece over the harp, or the harp itself slightly taller. May help all issues.
