I was worried about any heater I put in the tank malfunctioning and killing my fish. The Inkbird takes over and the probe in the tank tells it when to turn on and off by simply cutting off the electricity to it. This keeps the on/off switch from burning out because it never gets used. I found it to be super accurate right out of the box. One CON: the directions. It was, for me, (not a technical person,) a sort of Where’s Waldo of how do you work this thing? I gave up and asked ChatGPT how to do it. I got walked through it in the simplest manner possible.
