    "How to Be Gay in an Intolerant World"

Frequently, "how to" books are really "how not to." This is not true here! Each chapter has a focus and is richly detailed with people and examples that support each concept and process introduced. Because he shares actual vignettes from his life, these become believable. Because he is also a gay man, this makes his advice valuable. If people are looking for punishment, reasons to deny their sexuality, or ways to reinforce their intolerance, this is not the book for them. This author is a middle aged man who has captured many of the emerging issues that are associated with aging gay men, a perspective I was actively seeking. He paints a clear picture of life: the great, the not so great, and the muck and mire. Nonetheless, his optimism encourages readers to make better choices in those circumstances they can, and to accept those things they cannot change. He provides us with some wisdom to know the difference between both. This book has been of help to me and for this, I am grateful.

    Terrible title, amazing book

Let's be real, this title blows. It's awful. However, even as a gay guy who came out at 17 and had been out well over a decade this book has concrete and relevant advice. From figuring out why I'm always dating Mr. Wrong to why I still sometimes feel uncomfortable being gay, this book is real advice for real gay guys in the 21st century.

Read this book if you want to live life fully. At bit simple at times, but full of relevant insights. Well organized. Both gay and hetro communities owe Mr. Kort a debt of gratitude.
