I was looking for the kind of sheets I stumbled upon years ago and haven't found since. Four hundred count cotton sheets that "flapped" like sail cloth in a stiff breeze. Extremely breathable, yet substantial, if that makes sense. (If anyone knows what I'm talking about and has suggestions, please let me know). This sheet set, while even more breathable, was not what I was looking for, and yet I'm glad I got them all the same. I can't imagine a better sheet set for the summer months! Softer than silk, and lighter than anything you can imagine. If Charlotte made sheets out of her silken webs for her old pal Wilbur, then these are what they would feel like. So light and airy they don't even feel like they're there. I have only one complaint, and it's why I can't give these sheets five full stars, the care instructions forbid any bleach or softeners. The latter is no problem, these sheets don't need softeners, no bleach?? And no hot water, either!?!? And tumble dry only for a little while! You need to remove them still damp from dryer. Deep sigh here. I don't know about you, folks, but I don't feel like my sheets are clean until I bleach them in hot water, and dry them until they're piping hot. That way you know any little dust mites or worse are good and dead and sucked up in the lint filter of the dryer. Oh, well.
