It is much better overall quality than the Pyle water proof player (which stopped working well under a year).This new device is not without certain inconvenience however. I am early in the process of evaluating its water proof use as I swim laps. Initially I found that my flip turns gleaned the buds from my ears. I will need to incorporate a swim cap (which I only wore for ocean swimming) for lap swim to hold them in. Grrr.Another initial problem seems to be the extra connection link of speaker wire on the waterproof connector. I have had to work it in and around to get sound in both ear buds. Once done, however, it is done and sound is good in water wear. Wearing the pod on my arm and with the extension speaker wire my stroke is not perturbed. No hang ups either but then I only use a crawl stroke or kick-board.Thus far the unit is functioning well but caveat emptor I have only had it about a week. I might revise comments, if possible, as time goes on.5/15/16I do have an update regarding the in-line speaker wire attaching the device to buds. Unfortunately it is not the best of news for a new product just out of the box. The manual adjustment of the wire to connect the buds fails to adequately seat the bud connection and sound is spotty as I swim and always on a flip turn. I'll sometimes get one speaking sometimes neither. My answer was to go to Big Five and buy some JVC buds that have a continuous wire. I also bought a larger swim cap, covered my new ear buds, and with the new combination I enjoyed the device and a long swim. Even with kids raging and screaming in the kid area I was in my own lap lane away from them and my downloaded music play was great. Of course sorry I had to pay for dysfunctional equipment right out of the box. Very exciting I thought. Investigated different brands and settled on AudioFlood. Received it and had some issues getting set up but they were Apple issues, not AudioFlood. Using it about a week and have had some issues but not with product; more with trying to navigate contents of iPod shuffle. I don't take my glasses to pool and thus it's more difficult to find playlist I want. Regarding AudioFlood, so far nothing but 5 star kudos. Owner David Johnson is readily available to answer questions, help solve issues and seems to follow the Online Business mantra of total customer satisfaction. My advice: questions or complaints - Call David.Called to see about replacement headphones in case of loss and he sold 2nd headphones at half price plus threw in 2 sets of extra earbuds.Audio experience: Some reviewers of waterproof iPod shuffles have been dissatisfied with sound quality. True, it's not concert hall or audiophile quality but I love my music and find sound quality very acceptable. Some reviewers have been unhappy with water leakage into ear canal around earbuds. Not so with AudioFlood. Take time to choose best of 3 sizes of earbud and there was no leakage issue. Actually music quality is a bit better submerged but I'm not a seal so have to lift my head out of water to breathe where ambient noise of YMCA produces a different experience than submerged. Noticeable but not something that's hard to live with. As a senior citizen, my days of head smashing music are over and I've found the available sound loudness is more than I can handle.Waterproof iPods have been around a while. AudioFlood is among the latest versions and seems to have covered any issues with earlier versions. Ran into my fellow swimmer yesterday and he said, "Ooh! You got the new better kind".If you're a swimmer and love your music, this product is a perfect match. OR, if you just like to have music when you're out and about, this is a great product. The short earphone cords would allow you to clip iPod to collar or cap and forget it's there but for the music. The reviews were good and it sounded like a solid reliable solution to me wanting to listen to music while swimming workouts. Mind you, I swim approx 2000yds per workout so I am doing a lot of flip turns, different strokes, and really putting it to the test. I really like this product, I give it 4 stars because it does work well, however there are some things that people may want to be aware of.PROS:It WORKS! Easy to upload tunes, battery lasts a long time, comes with extension (longer cord)CONS:Ear buds fall out A LOT, I have tried them all, and I have not found any that really stay in my ears the entire workout. I am trying to find some smaller kid earbud covers that I think may stay in my ear better, but that is probably why I did not give this 5 stars. If the ear buds stayed in my ears without an issue, this product would really be a slam dunk. I also did not like the short cord, I do not think it's long enough. It doesn't matter if I clip the ipod onto my suit, goggles, etc one side always does not reach and it pulls that earbud out. So I used the extension it came with, not a huge issue, but I do have to wrap the extension around my suit strap or tuck it in as it is really long (almost too long of an extension). Lastly, the clip should be the other way, in the same direction as the earbud plug. That way I could clip it to the back of my cap or goggles (and the short extensions would reach just fine) but I have to clip it sideways, so one earbud extension is always shorter, if that makes sense).Other wise I cannot complain too much because it does work and works well.
