I kept feeling like the author must have had a hidden microphone within the Stones private places as well as meeting rooms (et al)!There was much I hadn't known (which surprised me...) about the band and all the background about the venues involved (or ultimately not!)I 'm not from the city but even all the NYC stuff was fascinating- remember going to Times Square as a 17 year old and how sleazy it was- never actually went back! I was aware in later years that it had been "cleaned up" but to be honest- the uncomfortable feelings I had back in the 70's pretty much always stayed with me- Now I hope to plan a trip down to have another look-see!Regarding the Stones- was truly astonished and surprised particularly about Keith Richards- even though he had been "clean" for quite awhile- my perception was he was always (or still) a bit of an unpredictable, unreliable prima donna . I have a totally new grasp on the talent (I always new he had...) plus the extraordinary man he actually is in AND outside of the band. He actually seems like quite the suburbanite in many aspects!All in all- I just loved this! Have actually started to research the other publications of Chris McKittrick- as the last page in the book noted other music-related articles he had penned!The author looks really young- so I can only imagine that his growing up years were filled with his parents music- and he took it on as his own???Anyhow- it is not JUST about the Stones or NYC- OR a stroll (dance...) down memory lane - it is a very interesting view of how the music we grew up with evolved into an "industry" and changed things across the board!Eagerly awaiting his next book! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars SHIDOOBEE *by I***S on Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2020* Hassle free transaction. The passion and respect the author has of the longevity and stamina of The Rolling Stones was very evident. It was well researched, well written and engaging. I finished it in 3 sittings.
