They are perfect for everything but very precise carving and I was only able to carve openings as wide as the blade or larger because the foam of the pumpkin is so thick it has to reach the widest point to make it all the way through. So, that is pretty specific to this project. Great knife! Fun project!

**Q: Will this tool cut through EVA foam?**
A: It should be able to cut through EVA foam with a thickness less than 1/2 inch due to the blade width. Do be wary of fumes from the EVA foam as you are cutting. Just from cutting vinyl and pleather covered fabrics there is already some toxic plastic fumes. Hope that helps!Dremels might be a better option for cutting and shaping EVA foam.

**Q: will this cut through a 5 gallon plastic bucket?**
A: I'm sure it would slice up a 5 gallon plastic bucket nicely.

**Q: will this cut and singe the ends of paracord?**
A: Yes, but I would recommend holding the blade against the end cut for a few additional seconds to make sure it seals.

**Q: I want to use this to cut rubber stamps for mounting...will this unit cut through rubber?**
A: I am not sure that this will do the job you are hoping to do...I have heard of the foam knifes being used to cut stamps, but the ones I have heard of doing so are hot knifes. This cuts foam board well because it has the blade for the paper and the heat for the foam.  I think you need more heat than what this will give you.

I used this to carve a foam pumpkin and it worked great! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not for PET Expandable Braided Sleeving

The item seems well built. I was able to attach the blade and heat it up without issue. It takes about 5 minutes to reach temperature. I checked the blade with a pair of pliers once hot, and it was still tight. I first tested with standard paracord. I had to go very slowly and apply heavy pressure but it was eventually able to cut through. It took probably 10 seconds. The cut was clean and the ends of the cord were properly melted. I next tested the main reason for me getting this. PET Expandable Braided Sleeving. This thing wouldn't even touch it. Laying the blade on top with heavy pressure didn't do anything. I tried slowly cutting with it like I would a regular knife. It was able to cut a few strands but they frayed everywhere. The heat played no part. I was eventually able to cut the sleeving after over a minute. The sleeving was completely frayed and not usable. Overall it was ok for paracord and NOT recommended for PET Expandable Braided Sleeving. This is most likely not a fault of the product. It is only 25w and I suspect I will need something much hotter to tackle the sleeving.
