Who knew this existed! *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2012* I bought this device because I always wanted to have a 2 monitor set up, but I never knew how techy people pulled it off.I only stumbled onto this product after I took a long look at the ports on the back of my desktop and googled what in the world a display port was. The search led me to this awesome adapter.The adapter is great, there was no software, I just plugged one end into the display port and the other to my vga cable coming from my monitor. Nonetheless there are some short hand instructions you need to know to enable 2 monitors.Here's the quick way:1. After the monitor is plugged into the adapter and into the computer (and the monitor is on, sorry) close all the windows on the computer.2. Click the start menu, and choose control panel.3. Click Appearance and Themes, and then click "change the screen resolution"4. After that click you will be in the settings tab of the display properties window.5. In the gray box, select the second monitor, then (three quarters of the way to the bottom of the window) click the box labeled "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor"6. You're all set, though feel free to drag the monitor around in the gray box to make the monitor line up the way you'd personally like.In summary:Pros: Great product for extending your desktop on to a second monitor. Plus no software or drivers to mess with.Cons: This may be silly, but it could be a bit smaller, currently it's about the size of bag of skittles, though the size is mostly meaningless since for me it sits behind the desktop tower.Overall, I recommend this product, and have bought the adapter for others ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It worked for 1 pc not another *by C***O on Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2011* When I got it, it worked just fine with my ATI 5870. However, I no longer run 3 monitors on that computer.I recently ordered an HD5450 low profile card  HIS Radeon HD 5450 1GB (64bit) DDR3 Eyefinity DisplayPort Dual Link DVI (HDCP) PCI Express 1X Low Profile Video Card Retail (RoHS) H545H1GD1  for work and tried to use this adaptor to have 3 monitors, but no such luck.The specs for the HD5450 (from both ATI's and HIS's websites and the box it came in) state that this card had "Three independent display controllers" and can "Drive up to three displays simultaneously with independent resolutions, refresh rates, color controls, and video overlays"However, I was completely unable to show 3 monitors at once with this adaptor. I could run any two ports, but not all three at once. Perhaps the problem is the card, perhaps this adaptor, I do not know without spending $100 on a different adaptor or $200 on a 1920x1080 monitor with a DisplayPort input. HIS points you to ATI's website for support, which at the time showed this adaptor as a PASSIVE one (which would behave as above), but now it shows it as an ACTIVE one. Perhaps Accell has fixed the issue that caused ATI to downgrade it to a Passive adaptor and mine was made before that fix. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great cable that works for 3 screens *by G***E on Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2015* After trying 4 other active cables (listed below) this is the cable that finally worked for me to run 3 screens off my Alienware M17x R3 laptop. Monitors are HP Pavilion 22xi IPS LED.
