It has a graphite coating which is very good. The key hole has a slide flap that keeps the padlock protected from the elements. Smooth operation of the key in lock and it turns with a satisfying click. Locks easily without the key once aligned correctly.I was expecting a bigger shackle (Not the biggest), but it does the job (gate will give way before the padlock)Gave it a soak in oil to help the weatherproofing.
