This "AARP Checklist for My Family" is 250 pages covering all aspects of one's life. It covers personal and family history; insurance; retirement and veterans benefits; banking and savings; investments; real estate; other assets and debts; wills, trusts, and powers of attorney; and medical and final wishes. Each chapter has an extensive "to-do checklist" and many questions to probe your memory and request information that one would have not otherwise thought of. My father is long retired and 88 years old. He's not a religious man but has a lot of friends in town so how do we handle a funeral or memorial service? I also decided to get the book for myself as well (I'm 50) realizing that none of my friends or family know what I want for myself. Best to start making some choices. And, my Dad and I can do it together...my Mom has been gone a while and my brother is absent though we fear he may turn up at the end. The book is thorough (including documenting tech stuff/passwords, etc.) and well organized. The book is a good start, but we find that it ignores the fact that some couples are equal partners and have separate data to share.
