There was hardly any shedding. It’s soft to the touch, my fingers didn’t hurt after 4-5 hours of doing my hair. It’s true to its description. What’s even better is the hair is available on prime, it doesn’t get ANY better than that! The hair color I have is a color 1, I’ll for sure be purchasing more hair in the future from this company!As far as how much hair was used, 4 packs (two braids from the 5th bag).
