Review: 1.5 Year Review: Best Wallet - I've had this wallet for a little over one and a half years now, and I can say confidently that it's the best wallet I've owned. The main reason it's the best is because of two things: size and usability. When I was looking for a wallet, I valued something small most of all. I wanted something that could fit easily in one of my front pocket so I wouldn't have to deal with the discomfort of sitting on a wallet in my back pocket anymore. For this factor, I don't think a wallet can get any smaller. This wallet is about as small as a wallet possibly could be. It's the only wallet I've ever been able to forget I was carrying; it just vanishes in my pocket. For a wallet so small, it's surprisingly usable. The quick access card strap works really well, and it's satisfying to use every time I have to retrieve a card. The other card slot is certainly harder to access, but it expands wide enough for my needs and it holds my cards securely. In general, I only have to deal with the less convenient card pocket about once a week, so it's no big deal. The cash/misc pocket can be a little difficult to deal with, but it is functional and it allows me to keep a couple of 20's with me just in case. Again, this is not a big deal to me as I don't use cash all that often. As with the normal card pocket, it holds things very securely. After a year and a half, I can say that it has held up well. I don't really see any wear on it other than it's a little grungier looking than when I bought it. I could probably get it looking close brand new if I spent a little time cleaning it. I can't say for sure how long it will last, but given that it hasn't degraded in the time I've owned it, and that it has a very simple design, I'd say it will probably last quite a bit longer. Outside of materials being different, and the overall concept having some major differences, they are similar in what they are designed to do. However, the folding and the leather will make the Belroy start out as a thicker wallet. Adding cards and cash to it will just make it that much thicker. The basics starts out thin with materials and once you add cards to it, it just increases in thickness incrementally. Price is also a significant difference between the two. The cards are easy to access. The design is very innovative and simple. I have been using the wallet for about 3 weeks. It is very slim and light. I hardly know that I'm carrying it. It makes my main cards very accessible. My only complaints are cash is bit of a pain to carry. For me it is not a big deal as I generally carry a minimal amount of cash. When this becomes a factor is when you are going to a festival/fair that basically only takes cash. While taking cards and cash are both easy, putting the cash back in can be a bit of a hassle. It would be nice if they put the cash pocket on the opposite side of where they have it, and they added a firm lip to make it easier to push the cash in. Other down sides are that it does not look like a premium wallet. My wife things it looks cheap. I tend to care more about functionality than aesthetics, so not really an issue for me. Also, the wallet becomes a bit cumbersome to use if you start to carry too many cards. For example, I recently won some gift cards. I started carrying them, and the wallet was not as easy to open and taking cards out became more difficult to take out. This is not surprising as the entire wallet design is elastic.
