Hopefully this was just a singular incident and will not happen to anyone else because the pen itself writes so very well and the stylus tips are fantastic. i even took this home after class and showed it to my wife just so she could see how nice the pen was. she now thinks i am a greater nerd but she did appreciate the pen. Awesome pen, great stylus, i definitely recommend this to others and if there are any problems their customer service sends an email the day after you receive the product so you can always talk with them if need be.Update 11/4/14So after having written my previous review I remembered that the company who sold the stylus had contacted me via email. I decided to reply and inform them of the issue. Within moments they had responded to my email and very kindly told me they would send me a new stylus because the other one I received was bad. They knew I had already fixed it but they still sent me another. And the new one was shipped and I received it in just a couple day. Fantastic customer service. I absolutely recommend this stylus. Its awesome. There are a LOT of reviews on this product, so I'll cut to the chase and highlight the Pro's of this Stylus:PROS:* 2 different sized tips (on opposite ends of the Stylus) - a larger one that replicates finger swipes/presses and a smaller one for more accurate gestures and writing* The tips are replaceable - you never have to discard the Stylus due to worn out tips. Simply order a five pack of tips and replace them* The actual pen ink is replaceable (and comes with one refill cartridge) - Uses your standard PILOT G-2 Gel ink refills. I personally use only G-2 pens for work and all the different tip sizes and colors I have work in my stylus* The Stylus is actually the size of a regular pen - I was getting tired of the tiny-hand Styli I had been using. Having a decent sized Stylus is comfortable for long durations of usage on my iPad Air* The hybrid mesh fiber is super smooth and lasts a bit longer than just a rubber nub.* Works on most touch screen devices - I have used it on Google, Asus, Motorola and Samsung products in addition to Apple and it performed flawlessly* Lastly, the pen looks elegant. I have the brushed aluminum one and I am not embarrassed to take it out and use it at any time, whether in the office or out and about recreationallyI really don't have any CONS to mention at all. Considering the price of this Stylus, I think this has to be one of the best out there. I would gladly pay 2 or 3 times the amount I pad here for it, at a Brick and Mortar Store. I got tired of fingerprints all over my iPad screen so I tried a cheap stylus for a few days which came with an iPad stand meant to use for cooking. The stylus was only meant for scrolling down a recipe when you have sticky or messy hands while cooking. I used it just to see if I could adjust to using a stylus. Result: yes. I decided to order the amPen Hybrid after reading so many good reviews. So far, so good. I like it. It makes using the keyboard much easier. I like having a large as well as a smaller size stylus tip to choose from. I purchased replacement stylus tips as well, to eliminate the hazard of being unable to find them at a later date. I will say that being a brand new stylus-user, I'm not all that sure WHY I may need them...I can only assume that the originals will wear out over time. I was very impressed with Tech Matte's interest in their customers and their excellent response to queries on Amazon.com. I have received three emails from them thanking me for my purchase, asking if I am happy with my stylus, and explaining the 12-month warranty. Another was a polite request that I write a review if I am pleased with my purchase. This is something you don't see much anymore these days and it is a refreshing improvement to find a company that actually cares about its customers. They asked me to contact them if I am not 100% pleased with their product and/or the service I have received. They actually seem to understand the benefits of "Good Customer Relations" This is almost as gratifying as the knowledge that I have chosen well in purchasing their product, and for these reasons I was moved to take the time to leave a positive review.
