Otherwise the stem will just spin as you tighten the nut using a standard ratchet. Often times, if you buy parts from the major autoparts dealers, you get parts made offshore where I believe the quality control is suspect. Even though they offer lifetime guarantees, who wants to do the job twice. This part is identical in quality to the one I removed from my 1999 Yukon SLT and I expect that it will last over 200,000 miles like the original one did. Wish I could say that the Yukon will make it that long. The bad- The nut that came with mine was the wrong thread pitch. The have changed the threads to attach the idler arm. The provided nut fit on my old part but not the new one. Fortunately, I had one to use since my truck was torn apart and it was after hours, unfortunately it wasn't a locking nut so I had to use a lock washer. I would still recommend buying this but would recommend checking the nut before you take your truck apart.
