I opted out but wanted to see what I was getting from my neighbors. Turns out the smart meters put out a burst every few seconds about the power of a home wifi router (1000 mili watts/meter squared). Cell phones are about 1/2 of that at arms length. And then there is your smart TV, enphase solar array controller etc. So we are immersed in RF. I bought smart guards for my nearest neighbors which knocks the RF down from 1000 to 100 3 feet from the smart meter. Wrapped my wifi router in metal screen to cut it down by the same factor, hooked up ethernet bridges to use my laptop eliminating all wifi. Turn off the cellphone unless necessary and set it about 6 feet away on speaker.
